Installing Avid Media Composer 2023.3 for Windows

Avid is proud to announce the latest version of its powerful video editing software, Avid Media Composer 2023.3, available now for Windows users. In this release, you can expect improved performance, new features, and enhanced functionality.

Docking Tool Palettes

One of the new features in Avid Media Composer 2023.3 is the ability to dock tool palettes from the Tools menu. Simply click on the vertical title bar of the tool palette and drag it to the location where you want to dock the window. You can now dock or tab one or more tool palettes and include them in your workspaces.

Second Host Panel

To enable the second host panel, go to Windows > Host Panels > Display 2. The second host panel will be disabled by default. With two or more monitors connected to your system, Avid Media Composer will display a main host panel on Display 1 (the primary display) and a floating panel containing the Timeline and Composer on Display 2.

SubCap Effect

In this release, the SubCap effect now supports Extensis Universal Type Client/Server Fonts. This means that you can take advantage of a wider range of font options when creating subtitles in your projects.

Improved Rendering

Avid Media Composer 2023.3 also introduces improved rendering functionality. When performing an AAF export that requires rendering of AudioSuite effects, the rendering is now performed on the existing sequence prior to making the export. This reduces the volume of new media that needs to be included in the turnover, making it easier and faster to complete your projects.

The Avid Media Composer 2023.3 software can be obtained through MyAvid, Avid Link, or the Download Center. Be sure to check the system requirements before installing the software.
